Sapiens Productions is an Award Winning production company run by Dutch filmmaker &  anthropologist Joshka Wessels. We have bases in the Netherlands and the UK


Through video broadcast in any form, Sapiens Productions aims to improve the understanding of the human face of development issues such as the environment, health and natural resources.


Sapiens Productions has worked for major broadcasters such as BBC World/BBC News 24, Television trust for the Environment, The Community Channel and Journeyman Pictures.


Our clients vary from non-profit and educational sector  to private organizations and include the International Water and Sanitation Centre (IRC), CARE–UK, The Centre for International Development and Training (CIDT), Healthlink Worldwide, Department for International Development (DFID), DENplan, the Centre for Arid Zone studies (CAZS), Wacksworks, Vista Visuals, CERES research school, University of Manchester and the University of Durham, UK.


Sapiens Productions works on all professional formats. The facilities at Sapiens productions consist of two mobile DVCAM camera- and edit kits for fieldwork and a Final Cut Pro Digital Edit Unit for all post-production requirements at its UK base.
